Elections to the European Committee of Social Rights, the monitoring body of the European Social Charter, were held on 12 December 2018 in Strasbourg.

Turkey’s candidate Prof. Dr. Yusuf Balcı is elected as a member of the Committee with the broad support of the member states of the Council of Europe.

We are confident that with his expertise and distinguished experience, Prof. Dr. Balcı will provide significant support to the work and activities of the European Committee of Social Rights.

Attaching utmost importance to the Council of Europe and its bodies Turkey as a founding member remains committed to pursue close cooperation with the Council.
